Remote start function

2015 GMC Sierra 6.2 4x4

 

I recently used the key fob remote start function to start the truck. When I returned approximately 15 minutes later I found the truck was no longer running. Is there a time limit on the remote start function? Does it make a difference if you start from the key fob or the Onstar remote start application?

I believe it runs for 10 minutes and then shuts off.

The limit is 10, but you can do the start function a 2nd time. Now it doesn't double it for 20. It just basically restarts the 10 minute timer when you do it the 2nd time. So for that 15 minutes you do it the 1st time and 5 minutes later you do it again.

Onstar and key fob have the same time limitations.

 

Obviously, the onstar version will work from further away.
