Gas Tank POPING

Does anyones fuel tank POP about 1-2 min.. after you shut the engine off?

Yes, my '02 did it every time I shut it off. Probably about 30 sec later or so.  There was a discussion about this very topic about a month ago questioning what it was.

its not the tank its the heat shields.  Nothing abnormal

Same problem on a '99 tahoe.  About 3 minutes after driving it sounds like a dent is relieved in a huge coke can

 

More of an annoyance than anything else.  I'll most likely have it looked at when I replace the exhaust.  Until then....THUMP
