vinyl wrapped bumpers

so i have an lt2 silverado with chrome bumpers. i loved the custom sport edition silverado with the painted body color bumpers front and rear but none were available at the time.

 

after seeing my brothers new denali with painted bumpers ive been really wishing i had mine too. anyone every wrap their bumpers with vinyl?

 

any thoughts?

Use 3M 1080 Wrap film. You can try and do it yourself but bumpers are a pain and you'll probably have to have at least one seam. My family runs a wide format graphics shop, and we don't really like doing it and charge a premium for bumpers.

It tends to hold up better than paint - I had a few sections of a front bumper wrapped with colored vinyl awhile back. The painted sections continued to get stone chips, the wrapped part didn't. Its not QUITE the same as a PPF film, but it held up well and looked good for what it was.

I actually inquired locally to have this done to my Sierra and i was quoted $160 for both bumpers using 3m gloss black.

wow 160! that sounds great to me i was thinking they might want alot more....

 

im gonna have to look around i dont know any real vinyl wrap shops around me

That's a good deal. We'd charge at least $100 per bumper.

I paid 180 an had both of mine powder coated. Bumpers are off a white 13 all terrain. Pulled all plastics off an had it done. Money well spent imo

Jus gloss black with clear coating. Matches up pretty good. Had it done in april. No issues yet

I still have not gotten mine wrapped but they have pictures on their FB. You can see a Silverado that had both bumpers wrapped in black in their pictures. Let me know how it turns out.

I debated the same thing a few months ago and I went with getting them painted same as the body color and REAL happy with the decision.
