Top Bed tie downs?

Recommended Posts

Mine were in the box on the floor in the back of the cab of my Sierra SLE, Crew Cab, 6.5' box.

They each have stamped into them "250lbs".

They can be placed in any of the 9 oval holes around the upper perimeter of the bed according to my owners manual.

The tie downs are standard on the LTZ and the High Country. I had a set in the backseat when I purchased the truck last year.

Got a second set off EBay

BTW the GM versions are rated at 350 lbs each.

They did not come on my LTZ and were not listed under the options on my sticker.

Another truck I looked at they were listed on the sticker.

You are correct. I missed that as well as being standard on all GMC trims, they are also standard on High Country.

Are you sure they were not on the option list on the window sticker?

I don't think they were which is why I thought they were standard on GMC's. It was also a year ago so who knows.

They are not on my windows sticker, and they were under my backseat. GMC SLE. But I think they are 250 lbs. The warning is that the bed will buckle before the tie down will show any fatigue.

I think my bedliner is sprayed on all except the 4 top corner holes so I'd have trouble moving them.

FWIW, the GM tie downs are standard on GMC, but not Chev.

I had no idea and was going to buy them, but when I picked my truck up the dealer had already installed them. When I installed my Retrax bed cover I had to move the ones closes the cab to the center holes. Pretty easy to uninstall and reinstall.

I bought my off of Amazon for $50. I have the crappy GM plastic bedliner and took it out and used a hole saw to drill out the holes just big enough for the tie downs to stick out. Put them at each corner. With the smaller hole drilled out no one can steal them because they can't pass through (at least not easily steal them).

I got them and not sure I'd ever use them. They sit down in the steak pockets.

We may be talking about different things. These ones do not go in stake pockets.

They fit in the holes covered by the removable oval plastic plugs in the box sides. There are 9 possible locations.

Cargo Tiedowns are covered page 4-3 and 4-4 of 2015 sierra OM.

Load rating is 250 lbs and there is a warning about box damage if overloaded.

Mine came with 4 and the salseman told me they all come with 4. When I picked it up they were already installed and the plastic caps were in the glovebox. I will check the window sticker when I get off.

All sierras come with 4 as standard.

High Country is the only chev that has them standard.
