285/70/17 or 275/70/17 BFG's..

So I have a 2015 Crew cab rado.

 

I picked up a set of Pro-comp Series 7005, 17x8's with a 2.5" level kit. The 285's KO2's are exactly the stance I want for my truck...

 

BUT!!

 

I found some 275/70/17 BFG KO2's, same tire but a 32 instead of a 33 for $40 cheaper per tire ($120 saving in total).

 

My question is the 285's are solid and fit perfectly, have slight rub on compressed full lock turn. The 275's would probably avoid that since it's a 32" and 1" a thinner tire, and well it's $120 in my pocket.... More $$ for more mods! How can we argue with that!

 

But will the 275's not fill the well gap and look as solid as the 285's??

 

I've read the 275 is basically a 285 as far as well gap/height on the BFG's. But the width of the 275 is a little smaller but that would kill the rub issue. Height/tire size is 33 = 33.1" and the 32 = 32.5" as far as height.

 

Not a bad thing. But if its going to look undersized and cheap I'll opt for the 285's.

 

So would the 275's fill the well gap and even be noticeable? Or should I just run the 85's and pony up the extra $120..

 

The extra width doesn't really matter to me. My trail use is light at best. I don't crawl, my truck is a 2x4 and I've yet to get into anything where I HAD to have a 1" wider/taller tire. I've gotten pretty deep a few times but so far haven't bitten more than I could chew. My truck is 90% commuter so trail killing is secondary to looks/road performance.

 

So looks are priory. But these will see dirt/trails so the tire will come into effect some.

 

 

So what say you guys!?
