Where to go to check for realls or bulletins besides my dealer?

Full dick mode here for a quick second. This is at the bottom of all GM bulletins, etc:

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

That said...recalls can be checked from https://recalls.gm.com/#/ All you do is enter your full VIN number.

As for bulletins, walking in to your dealer and asking "are there any bulletins for my truck?" Yes, which one of the 100+ are you looking for? Some will appear on this site, especially if you can find one of the various members whom may or may not be able to find one you are looking for, especially if you provide good details on the issue you are having. A subscription to AllData or Mitchell would work, or you can purchase a master 1980-2015 bulletin/TSB DVD from Helm Inc.

You can subscribe to alldata. I have for all my past vehicles. It takes a year or so for current model year stuff to be posted though.

Dealer does not tell me what there is, that is why I am asking to see what is out there.

I think that is his point...there are too many bulletins out there for a model year to just tell you what is available vs. what is applicable to your model / VIN / issue that you might have. As an example, the radio update I received updated software and/or hardware depending upon the unit part number that was installed (and there are many). So the dealer had to check it out first and then he could tell me they had to order the hardware. When it came in, they updated the hardware and loaded the software. For the HVAC, I just told them my symptoms and that I read about a possible fix. They verified the fix was applicable to my truck, updated it, tested it and returned the truck to me.

For recalls, they are public as stated. Some are urgent, while others are not. Took my truck in for tire rotation and the HVAC issue. Service writer told me there was a recall for the brake line bracket. They took care of it while I was there.

So it really depends on which issue you have and whether it is applicable.

And sometimes I check Techlink to see if there is something new that may be applicable... http://sandyblogs.com/techlink/

Be sure to read the whole item as all models of GM vehicles are represented here.
