Dropped 2015 Silverado RCSB...

I had been looking for a new truck for a while and was not able to find just what I was looking for. Most dealers were not stocking optioned regular cab short beds, mostly work trucks. So I placed an order from the factory for a 2015 Silverado LT RCSB with 5.3L and 3.42 locking rear end towards the end of May. Five weeks later the dealership contacted me to let me know that my truck had arrived and that I could pick it up anytime. When I went to get it the following day, the truck was ready for me when I arrived, signed the paperwork and was driving home within an hour.

First thing I did that afternoon was de-badge the truck and replace the chrome honeycomb grille insert with a Grillcraft black mesh insert and Empire Motorsports black billet bowtie. Also added a BedRug and removed the 1¼” block from the axle to get the rear end down a bit while waiting for my drop kit parts to arrive.

I ordered the Belltech 4”/7” kit that uses 2” drop spindles, 2” lowering Street Performance struts and offset upper control arm bushings up front with a flip kit, 2° pinion shims and Street Performance shocks in the rear.

Installation went pretty smooth without any major problems. Truck sat almost level with no noticeable rake. Front end came right back into alignment with some camber adjustment to spare.

I couldn’t be happier with the results… truck handles really well and rides as smooth if not better than it did stock. I would not hesitate to recommend the Belltech kit, the quality of the parts are what you would expect from a company that has been lowering trucks for 30 years.

I have always wanted a RCSB with bucket seats and center console but this option is not available and has not been on any of my previous trucks.

Using the "Center console swap" thread here I was able to track down the parts numbers to order everything needed to get a complete matching console. After removing the jump seat and lower trim on the dash the swap was pretty simple and the console fit right into place. Using the harness from the jump seat I was able to get everything in the console working as it should except the front 3 USB plugs, not a problem as I don’t think I’ll ever be needing 6 USB ports.

Next I removed and disassembled the tailgate handle to have it smoothed and color matched. At this time I also had the side windows tinted at 40%.

Since I do like a little forward rake I ended up pulling the struts back off to eliminate the one adjustment ring that sets them at 2” just to get a little more drop. Wound up at almost 5” in the front and 7” in the rear with just the right amount of rake.

Exhaust and tonneau cover are next on the list.

Also, still trying to decide on wheels…

Nice work on the truck. Really like the center console. Could you share the Part# for the Bell Tech kit used on yours?

Where did you get that engine cover and how much modification did it require. Thanks.

I bought the cover on ebay and the studs and badge from gmpartsgiant.com. No modifications, just snaps on to the studs.

You may or may not already have the mounting studs. If not, you need two. They replace the front two bolts holding down your black plastic intake cover.
