Diablosport on 2011 6.2

After looking through the forums I couldn't find a definitive answer. My question is can I run E85 with the Diablotune? My truck requires premium gas from the factory and is flex fuel. If so will it run quicker on E85?

were you wanting to do custom tuning or running a cann tune built into the programmers, most programmers dont support a e85 tune and require custom tuning and if your planing on doing this i would sugguest the sct x4 unit as the way better unit to use, if you have any questions just give me a call sir

Thanks Steve

My wife bought me the Intune a couple years ago. Been running e85 except for a couple times filing with 93 ( and running a several fill ups in a row) and I can't tell a difference between the two fuels performance ways. I emailed diablosport and asked if I could run e85 with the Diablotune but didn't get a answer. I just installed the MPG tune yesterday and couldn't believe it but it has better and smoother acceleration then the Diablotune!! ( this is with e85). Will this hurt the truck? Should I be running e85 with this tuner? The e85 is plentiful around here and works out to be cheaper then premium (I get e85 for 1.05 - 1.30) a gallon.

The Diablosport tuners (Intune I-1000, I2, & Trinity) supports using E85 with any of their 3 tunes on the GM trucks from what I've read on their website. I have the I-1000 and I've used E85 in my 2014 5.3L for almost the entire times (2yrs, 36k miles) I've owned the truck. For me the the Diablo 91+ octane tune feels better than the regular 87 tune when using E85. I only tried the MPG tune for a short time when I first got it and I didnt feel any performance improvement but I didnt expect to being it was for increased MPG which I also did not see. Maybe I could give it another try for a few weeks. Have you kept up on the updates for the tuner? I know they've tweaked and improved things over the past 2 yrs. Since you have a 2011 6.2 what we both notice Im sure could be different. Overall I've been pretty happy with the intune and using e85 in my 2014.

I believe I only did the initial update when I first opened the tuner. We used my wife's Asus notebook computer which has since become unusable and I doubt I can update it from a smart phone. I would really like a custom tune but the tuner needs a PC of course. My truck gets used pretty hard at times, I'm a construction contractor who probably should be driving a HD but the power of the 6.2 in a lighter truck was too much to pass up. I had bought a new 1500 in 05 and a month after they came out with the Vortec Max. I was so ticked. Ever since I had to have one, then came the 6.2 lol. I like the diablosport and being able to change tire size etc without having to deal with waiting for a custom tune update and as soon as I find a shop to change the gears to 3.73 or most likely 4.10 I will be able to adjust for that at the shop. As for running the E85 thank you for the info. I've been running it for quite a while but always wondered if I should with the Diablosport.

That's probably the most annoying part of the Diablosport tuner is the updating. I've read where lots of people have issues getting it to update. I've had some problems where I've had to unplug it in the middle of updating and start over because it was stuck/hung. Its a slow process for sure. Seems better now though.

I originally bought mine for my 2005 after I added larger tire and so when I traded it for the 2014 and again put larger tires on I of course had to re-use it on that to correct the speedo. It is nice that you can make those changes or remove it when taking it into the dealer so quickly.

Do you have a yellow gas cap? Truck should be flex fuel capable. I have run E85 in my 2010 6.2 truck tuned and not tuned for 6 yrs +

Yes it's defiantly a flex fuel. ( has the yellow cap) I was just wondering if running E85 was safe with the Diablo canned tunes.
