Noise coming from water pump area

2015 Midnight edition... At 33K experienced squealing coming from the front of the engine, from something turning the belt. They say it was the water pump and replaced it. 35K the same noise came back and this time they replaced the vacuum pump along with the compression belt and another belt. 35,750 miles and the noise is back AGAIN and LOUDER. The truck is currently in the shop, and we'll see what they say this time. Seems to me the culprit is larger than the aforementioned pumps! Annoyed.

Sounds like the tensioner pulley bearing failure?

Thanks for the post! I have or should say had the squeal........My belief was water pump seals? It's currently not making the noise? Life can't be this easy for me........It will come back no doubt....

Just found this old post..... I will resurrect it here in 2022. My 2020 suburban premier rst started this same squeal/whine noise about a week ago. Checked it out and it was coming from the water pump. It just hit 60k miles and I have the extended bumper 2 bumper through gm. My family and I were driving into town today and all the sudden I get a bad squealing/grinding noise. I opened the window ( to make sure it was me.... we live in GA). It was and all I could smell was coolant. Drove it straight to the dealer and made them give me a loaner because the rental car place was closed at 4pm on a Saturday. We left in a Tahoe trade in and I'll be talking to the service manager Monday I guess.
