I got one too last night in Pittsburgh. Practically as soon as I turned Google Chrome to Incognito on our Mac. Thanks for all the tips!!

 

When should I tell the dealer about the private offer? Is there any reason to wait until we've negotiated the price and then say "oh yeah by the way I have a private offer too" or do I just be upfront about it? I wasn't sure if they'd be less flexible on their price if they knew you were getting $1500 off from another source (above all other rebates).

My dealer is holding my truck for me at the dealer because he wants to squeeze every nickle he can out of GM for me.

 

There is an auto show here in Toronto that ends today.

 

GM has a $750 incentive which is $500 from GM and $250 from dealer.

So I sent an email to some family members that live in Kansas to go on the site and see if it pops up. Within 10 minutes, 4 of them called me saying they got the offer. So I am not sure if its location based. I am from Delaware and tried for days to get it.

Pretty sure it must be based on zip codes, or regional. I've never been able to get one to pop up with Michigan or Northern Indiana zip codes. Lots of GM employees in this area, so more than likely very few private offers. Back in the fall of 2013 when I bought my 2014 They mailed me several private offers starting in August. Even got a couple offers after I had purchased the truck in September.

My "Finance Friend" just told me that her general manager said that PO's are stack-able with any offer. Even employee pricing. So I will be trying to get a PO to knock some more off of my Family GM Pricing deal when I am closer to my "delivery" date. Another $1000-$1500 is never a bad thing.

 

I just hope I can get one when I need it. It was total luck when I hit that one last night.

Like when USAA used to offer $750 off of a new GM vehicle, GM classified that as a private offer. So when my $1500 private offer from GMC popped up, I could not combine it with the USAA offer so really it was only an extra $750 off.

 

But it can definitely be combined with standard employee pricing, supplier, etc.

I'm watching television before I go to bed and I have been hitting refresh for the last hour and a half roughly, so a few hundred times. Trying Chrome Incognito and IE InPrivate browsing, deleted cookies and history, trying different zip codes in inventory and search and build. No dice on the Chevrolet side. Trying to get one for my Grandpa.

That is exactly what I have been doing. It may be too late in the month. Who knows. I am not worried yet. I don't even have an ETA on my special order so getting one right now for me is not top priority. But I would like to figure out the trick, if there is one for when I need one. Good Luck. I live in Michigan and i got one. Unfortunately I just ordered my truck and have 6-8 weeks till i get my truck. This private offer expires on Feb 29th. So if anyone takes delivery soon they can have it. PM ME

Tell him AFTER everything is said and done. I did a deal with a Private Offer, and everything went good. A year later, we got down to the final number on another vehicle, I told them I had one, and all of a sudden, the salesman bolted back to the manager to attempt further negotiation. Threatening to walk, the offer went through as is. Some dealer will clip you any way they can.
