$1500 Private Offer Tips

I haven't been trying very hard. I just found out my truck is scheduled for production the week of 3/21.

So a March PO will probably be useless to me. I am guessing I really need to try harder in April as that is the more logical time frame for my truck to be delivered.

But good luck.

I got one in February. Offered it up to someone and emailed it to them. I received no thank you either here or via email.

So I am not wasting my time for anyone other than me at this point.

:(

When did you place the order for your truck. I placed mine two weeks ago and have yet to get a production week.

Original Order was entered and dated on 2/11/16. The first 2 weeks it was pretty quiet and doesn't seem like much happens.

I was just toying around on the Chevy site and one popped up. I'm not ready to buy, so if anyone could use it.....PM me. I'll be on the computer another hour or two.

I just received a private offer while building a pickup on the Chevrolet site. It must be back.

Great news. What zip code?

So I think I have figured out something with getting a private offer.

Like I stated earlier in this thread I was able to get one to come in mid February (I think) and I was no good to me as I had just ordered a truck and it was going be at least March or April until it was delivered and the offer expired Feb 29th. So I offered it up to someone here and filled it out and emailed it to them.

I have been trying randomly to get one ever since with NO LUCK. Trying all of the previously mentioned tips. Clearing cookies, and Incognito modes and such again with no luck.

This past week I was in one of my retail stores across town. I wanted to try and find a dealer that had a truck close to my ordered truck so I could check it out in person.

(I test drove a 4WD HC and I ordred a 2WD LTZ) (Close I know but I wanted to test climbing in and out and decide if I had room for AMP steps)

So I loaded up chevrolet.com and started to build and BOOM I had a private offer. I closed it thinking that I was still looking at an April delivery and these PO's expire at the end of the month you get it.

But it dawned on me that I think that the offer is based somehow on your IP address and not from the cookies that chevy has on recorded for your visit.

I don't think I will ever get another offer anytime soon on my home PC's or Mobile devices because I have already filled on out at that IP address.

To test it I am in San Diego for the weekend for a volleyball tournament for my son. We checked into our hotel tonight so I loaded up Chevrolet.com in the room on the public WiFi here and about 2 steps into the build I had a private offer. I took it this time because I found out on Thursday that my truck was built a week earlier than expected and is on a train car. So I thought maybe I will get it before the end of the month. If not, I think I can just go to one of my other stores and try again in April to get one.

I tried spoofing my IP address with no success also but I also have read that you really can't spoof you address the way you would like to.

Just my theory. So my suggestion would be to NOT TRY for a PO until you absolutely need one. If you get one at that IP it may be the ONLY ONE you get anytime soon.

I could be wrong but that is what I have found in trying to get one.

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
