$1500 Private Offer Tips

Recommended Posts

I just heard from my dealer today. My truck should hit a PHX rail yard this week, and will be at the dealership next week. So I am probably gonna have to try for another PO for April. I think my March one is going to expire before I can use it. :banghead:

Edit

----------------

Before I get 100 private messages asking me to give it to someone since I might not use it. It is not that simple.

The PO number is tied to the Person and Zip Code that the offer was issued.

It can only be transferred to a close family member living in the same zip code that the Private Offer issued.

If you get one to pop up and you know you can't or won't used and you want to offer it to someone you need all of their vital info to fill out the form for them.

That info is listed on previous pages of this thread. You need a name, address, email etc. Then the PO is emailed to that person.

After weeks of trying to get the PO by emptying cookies, using incognito mode, using different computers, etc., I got one when I was not trying! I have always just gone to "Price & Build" to try to get one. This time around, I had actually given up, and I was just looking at Silverado accessories, then one just popped up! I couldn't believe it. I am actually expecting to buy a truck tonight or tomorrow. Had written this off completely. Anyway, just thought I would share this since I was not on a different computer, in incognito mode, emptying cookies, etc. I was just browsing accessories in regular mode using Chrome.

Congrats!! That is great news.

Like I stated previously I think the use of a different computer or IP address is only needed if you have received a PO at that computer or IP address and are trying for another one. Trust me it looks like will be be trying hard AGAIN at the end of next week to get one since it is likely I won't make the 3/31/16 deadline for the delivery of my new truck order.

Ive gotten two private offers for family members in 24 hrs on the same computer chrome incognito.

So bizarre. Good to know. So maybe my theory SUCKS!

I just hope it is that easy for me to get one come April first!

Well I did end up using my March PO on top of my GM Employee pricing today. I just called my dealer and said hey I have the VIN, you have been invoiced, can we just get all the docs and deal done and when the truck shows up it can get the final LPO stuff put on it and then I can take it. Good Luck to everyone trying to get a PO. If I am ever super bored and end up surfing Chevy.com and I get another one, I will offer it up here.

Anyone get a PO today April 1?!

Have not seen anything. Kind of thinking that since they have the bonus tag going on this month, they may not be allowing the private offer pop up?

Try in the coming days. They seem to start showing up around the 10th. I got/used one in January and the bonus tag was going on then also. Yes, they are compatible offers.

I'm looking for one for a 16 equinox, any tips to get one to pop up

I got one for GMC today using Chrome Incognito. Walked away from the computer for 1/2 hour and when I returned it just popped up. Have been on Chevy.com trying to get one for the last couple days but couldn't get anything. GMC dealers around me don't have anything I like. Guy who sold me my '15 this time last year has been calling trying to get me to take a White All Terrain. Good luck all!! Keep clicking!!

Hey Guys,

I've been trying (Michigan zip code) for about a month or so now (following this thread) for a Chevy Private Offer, and haven't been able to get anything other than the "request a quote" pop-up like so many other people. I ordered my truck on the 15th of March and will likely need one for May.

So, now that its getting closer and I have been unsuccessful on my own so far, If anyone gets a Chevy pop-up that they don't need, please PM me and I will send you my information. I will continue to try on my own also and return the favor to anyone in need if I get one to pop up after I get my truck.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Regards,

T.

i seem to get the pop up for request a quote often, but no PO as of yet. Getting a bit frustrating, but I'll keep at it!

Yeah, I get that one a bunch too. I've been trying on and off all day. It's definitely a targeted marketing program though, aimed at certain vehicles in certain areas. I think Groundtrooper is right about it going off iP address. It seems like some people to get them in various areas still, but definitely some areas more than others and seems to also generate more for them after the 10th of the month. I noticed just reading back through this entire thread that around the 10th or 11th, everyone starts saying they got them again. I'm going to keep at it, my truck should be here in 2 to 4 weeks.

    • Folks, Have a great new 2026 WT  (std cab, 2.7/4WD) w/base 40/20/40 mech adj bench "fake buckets"  (with lower and upper center console) heavy vinyl seats.  Overall the seats are very comfortable and the vinyl is heavy and appears less likely to 'split out'. Am very tall (6'5")  + a bad back/osteporosis/former hyperparathyroidism so ease/range of movement is a bit restricted.  The truck rides a bit high and I use a nerf step bar w/my left foot to step in, then I put right foot/leg in, drag my butt in  & get seated.  Worked fine in my 2018 RAM quadCab. But I end up dragging my butt over the left raised sidecushsion area of vinyl seat, and due to texture there's fair amount of traction on slide inward.  (ArmorAll didn't improve.) If the seat were even ~1/2" - 3/4" lower it'd be helpful, but base seats just have the forward/backward underseat bail and the side lever for tilt which really doesn't affect seat height.   I really don't want to 'de-puff' the left side sidecushion forming the  fake 'bucket'. I know one company sells 'seat elevator blocks':  but is there a simple way of lowering the height of the driver seat instead?   Thanks Bill W San Jose
    • I have a basic 2026 1500 WT  (2.7L/4WD reg cab shorttbed). Comfy, generally happy with electronics/radio - but is there a way I can add switches to steering wheel right-side position (curr. empty) so I can adjust volume, push phone button to voice dial, etc? Bill W San Jose
    • The curb weight on a 1 ton crew cab long bed is around 7k lbs.  Now, I don't know where you went to school but 9k is not more than 2x 7k lbs. More than 2x 7k lbs would be 14k+.   With that said, obviously yes you're going to feel a 9k lb trailer when slowing down.  I already said, when accelerating.  When changing lanes?  No.  But if you look at the context of what was quoted, the original person said, "after a mile or two..." which means that would be after the accelerating portion and you're driving a generally steady pace.  Please do learn to read and comprehend.
    • So I purchased the Range unit for my 2026 and I am seeing different locations suggested for the ECM . Can anyone confirm wither under hood, left side or right side or behind the wheelwell?
    • Like I've said before. Di and Carbon buildup is not that big of a concern. Engine had minimal buildup, and that engine was obviously not super well maintained. Do regular oil changes, and you're gtg as long as the rest of the truck lasts. Also, the High Pressure FP that people ****** about, but can't tell you why.  Now, I wish they'd trash the variable oil pump. No real world issues with them, but I'll gladly eat whatever miniscule MPG it's saving me in favor of more oil at all RPMs.    Curious to see his assessment of the 7.3 compared to the 6.6. I expect he'll praise the port inj, but from a structural standpoint, the 6.6 is as robust as any engine out there.    Not to take away from the 7.3. I feel it's equally as good as the 6.6.     As to heat on the rear cyls, I'd have to see numerous examples before I'd say it's an issue. Especially not knowing the history of that engine. For all is known, they could have blown a rad hose, and ran it hot, and the 2 rear cyls may be the first to get hot in a low coolant situation, but not be an issue aside from that.
