chevy15 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 alright, what's everyone's opinion on these? I am really on the fence, so that tells me I shouldn't do it but the more I see them the more I like them. what's everyone think? Seems like the biggest complaint I've seen in reviews is that the LED's burnout quickly and your left riding around with 2-3 lights out and it doesn't look very good. for those who don't know what I'm talking about, see link below. http://www.xtralights.com/universal-60-hyperlite-line-of-fire-tailgate-light-bar-red?gclid=CP3JitDE3cgCFY09gQodCZcBSA
RyanbabZ71 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I have had mine for over 4 yrs on my 2010 and no burnt out lights. Make sure to buy a good product/brand I got mine to add more visibility. Enough distracted drivers I figured this may help a bit I have the fire and ice http://www.realtruck.com/fire-ice-led-tailgate-light-bar/?gclid=Cj0KEQjw-7GxBRCL_Kq6mZSHvdsBEiQA7r8VhCJyt_kDYkDyAiIaqN0DnE2AeAhcpTIMnWk5z-BOFScaAsCH8P8HAQ Ryan
batman900 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Only trucks I see with those are chromed out with clear tails and often a spoiler, so that kinda makes me dislike the idea of them but it could just be my area. And yes they often have only part of the bar working with random bulbs burned out.
dcheeseman Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I've had this one on my 2010 GMC Sierra for a couple years now. No issues or LED's burnt out. Very pleased with mine. http://www.realtruck.com/recon-white-lightning-led-tailgate-light-bar/26416.html Daniel
jamin87ss Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I've wanted one as well but living in the north east I figured they wouldn't last long
RyanbabZ71 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I've wanted one as well but living in the north east I figured they wouldn't last long Why? Mine has seen temps off 100 to -20 with no issues Ryan
jamin87ss Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Ryan. Ice snow, and salt build up, seems like when I see them around there half on, like mentioned above, always figured it was due to winter
RyanbabZ71 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Mine has seen plenty of snow and ice and salt over the years Ryan

CuzznVinny Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Its really just hit and miss. I've always gone with the recon ones. I've owned about 8 of them on several trucks. One had a section burn out, one had a few leds flicker, one had a section of leds go dimmer than the rest. All happened at about a year when the warranty was up. The rest are still going fine.
Jimmy W Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 I had one on my 2014 I just traded and loved it.The reverse lights were awesome
henrypbui Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 are there any of the lights that have a solid even light output instead of all the individual led look?
SgtShiv Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I just put one on today. Got an OPT7 60" and so far I like it, supposed to have a two year warranty that I hope not to need.
