2015 6L80E question

New 2015 Silverado 1500 4.3L with 1,900 miles on it. After a 23 mile run home (20 on the interstate @70, and 3 miles of stop & go) I switched the DIC to trans fluid temp, and it was reading 223. Wasn't towing anything & the outside temp was 75. I've noticed in traffic before it would get to 205 when it was 85 degrees outside, but not any higher. Should I be concerned about this? Temp started dropping pretty quick once I cleared traffic, and was 217 when I got home. What do you folks think? Only mods are a Range AFM disabler.

Thanks

It's the stop and go that warms them up.

More torque converter slip, and less air flow thru the cooler. I certainly wouldn't be worried about 223 oil temp.

It's a bit high. The dealer will tell yiu it's normal. The high temps might go away with break-in. My temps would reach 205 with city driving.

Part of the high temps is due to the transmission shifting behavior of the factory tune. Since I got my Blackbear tune my temps average 190 degrees. Impressive considering I have 33's and 3.08 gears.

I was told by a transmission tech once that for every 20 degree increase in operating temp, the life of the transmission fluid is reduced by 50 percent.
