It's really not that hard to install if you have any mechanical skills at all.  Here's a link to my site with lots of pictures:  Body Lift Install  I have a link to chevy4x4trucks site on the left hand side of my page too, where he has a lot of pics and info on the body lift he installed on his previous truck.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

MountaineerTom 99Z71,

Nice truck.  I have a question for you.  After viewing your pics why didn't the upper and lower fan shroud line up after the body lift?  I had both a suspension & body lift on my 2WD and everything lines up exactly like before.  I didn't do it myself I took it to a shop.  Let me know.  Thanks!

The Performance Accessories kit I got had brackets to lower the upper and lower fan shrouds.  I heard that they may have changed some things with the fan shroud.

Does yours have a gap between the upper and lower shrouds, or are they still connected in the middle?

I installed a body lift on my '86 blazer.  It wasn't to bad, a friend and I did it in a day and a half or so.  We did it the real shady mechanics way.  But it was all done with hand tool.  The hardest part was breaking the rusted body bolt, (we used a 2 foot steel pipe...best breaker bar ever).  You might need to find a welder friend also, I had to extend the shift linkage to my tranny, and I also had to extend my steering linkage.  It was onlly 2 inches so I didn't have to screw with my bumper or gas filler neck.  It was a lot of fun and made it look a hellava lot nicer too.

??? Mountaineer Tom, It also looks like you can flip those tow hooks over and not have to cut anything.....I might be wrong, but its worth a try.

They attach with two bolts; one vertically, one horizontally.  I tried doing that, but the vertical hole wouldn't line up.  The hole was not in the center.  I also tried flipping them over and swapping sides, with no luck.  I could have redrilled a new hole in the frame to make them line up, but didn't really want to do that.

Body lifts are a joke to install.  Only basic knowledge required.  Just be carefull of your wires, hoses, and hard brake lines.  The hardest part is the prep work before and after - bumper and all other relocation brackets,...
