Flowmaster 50 series HD muffler

Hi everyone, I'm new here and was hoping for some help. I have a 2011 silverado 2500 HD 6.0L and was looking to replace just the muffler. I like the stock setup 3.5" from manifolds back and also like the placement and look of the stock tailpipe. I was looking at Flowmaster and called them about there 40 series part #853548. The tech had told me with the 6.0L it would be very aggressive and warned me about just how aggressive it would be, then he reccommended the 50 series HD muffler 3.5" In/Out w/ offset part #853558. Could anyone comment on this muffler, or have any input on alternatives?

Many Thanks

You would be much better off with the Magnaflow. The Flowmaster mufflers are the most restrictive on the market, more restrictive and power robbing than the giant OEM one that comes stock.

Do yourself a favor and go with the Magnaflow.

Magnaflow, Borla, MBRP, Corsa, Corsa db are all fine exhaust systems and all produce a nice aggressive sound. All made from quality stainless steel, can't go wrong with either IMO. It really comes down to sound, personal preference really.

I have the Borla (GMPP) performance system on my 08 L76 V-Max, & MBRP on my 5.3L, both sound great.

Flowmaster and Magnaflow are two of the only companies that make a muffler that will fit in the stock place. Most of the other manufacturers have bullet or resonator style 3.5" mufflers and you'll have to alter the pipes as well to make them fit.
