2016 Sierra Denali - Cooled Seat Back Vent Gone

If I remember correctly, the 2015s had a vent on the rear of the front seats that exhausted hot air on the rear passengers when the cooled seats were on. Well I just noticed that on my new 2016 Denali, that vent is gone. I guess they are now venting to the floor. I'm thinking this should help the problem of hot air blasting the kids in the back.

 

Too bad they didn't add actual rear vents for the HVAC while they were at it!

I agree about the back rear vents. That's gm bad , every other truck maker has them. The f150 goes even further with heated rear seats.

However let me say my 16 Sierra seats cool pretty nicely. Weather it's just a fan or not.

So the module in the seat is exactly the same with the exception of how the seat ejects the hot air? If that is the case, can you explain why gm changed the description from cooled to ventilated?

That was true in 14 and 15.

 

The 16's have changed the seat vents, the dash switch no longer says AC, it has a fan blade pic, and all references in the order guide descriptions have been changed from 'heated and cooled' to heated and ventilated.

 

I wish I was wrong. Just traded my cooled 15 for a ventilated16 - guess I should update profile.

 

 

Edit -- FWIW, I was one of the ones that posted about the using Peltier device to cool the the 14 and 15 models.

Not to go crazy off topic but what made you trade the 15 for a 16? Seems like you had a nice Denali, was the factory light upgrade that important?

Can we route the hot hair on a 15 through the bottom using 16 parts? I wouldnt mind leaving the 15 vent shell on avoiding having to change seats or cover

Both SLT, not Denali. (both with the KB6 seats)

 

Didn't like the DC, went back to a crew; also went to NHT (wanted NHT on 15 but wasn't patient enough to wait).

Not many miles, but so far very impressed with LED's. Really glad to be back with tow mirrors, even when not towing. Went with the 5.3/8speed -- the jury is still out, would prefer to get a couple thousand on it before commenting.
