Im looking to put new tires on my 2012 1500 and Im not sure what is the best. I want mud/snow tires. What will give me the longest life, decent ride, and good traction when I need it.

Im looking to get 275/70/R18

Thanks for the help!

I just got a set of the BFG KO2s (35/12.5/R17) for my lifted 2004 1500 Z71. They have great traction and the noise isn't too loud just a low hum is all I hear.

My only concern about those tires is that they are technically "all terrain". So what kind of life will I get out of them? I like the look of them but I do more on-road driving than actual off-road so I have to be realistic.

If the KO2 is anything like the old KO that they replace, you won't have any problem with long tire life.

i have the michelin atx at2 on my dmax now. great road tire and real good when its wet. did ok in the snow and seemed to clog up in wet grass and a little mud while backing my boat trailer into yard. had to put into 4 wheel so i didnt make a mess of the yard. i also picked up a set of spare wheels and put dedicated snows on them for the winter and will swap out if we ever get snow here this year.the michelins will go back on in the spring. have 30,000 on them now and still look great.

Road tire and mud tire are 2 completely opposite tires.

Thanks to everyone who has pitched in to help me, I talked to a few local tire places and Im probably going to go with the michelin LTX defenders. They can mount them for 206 a piece. Seems pretty good to me. As much as I would like All terrain tires I think it would be a waste of money since I will probably only be off road a couple times a year. Don't worry my truck is not a grocery getting, I do more towing and on road work then off. Again, thank you all for the help! I will post pictures when they get mounted.
