Configuring a 6inch BDS lift --- Recommendations?

I am in the process of trying to configure a 6inch BDS Lift. The Options they are giving me are...

"no thanks" or 5" Block Lift ($0) or Rear Leaf Springs (+$393)

Any recommendations?

A tall block will add axle wrap. But will help maintain some of the factory ride.

New springs will reduce axle wrap but will likely ride rougher.

So your call on what you prefer.

If you stick with the block, you can add ladder bars to reduce axle wrap altogether.

I used the springs on my 07 2500 hd with a 7" lift...i couldn't have been happier. Didn't lose any payload capacity (the truck would squat about the same when loaded heavy or towing anyways) and the ride quality was better than stock in my experience.

I recently had a 6" BDS kit installed. I upgraded the rear shocks to the Fox 2.0's & the ride was great! My only dislike was that my front sat 1/2" higher than the rear. After 1500 miles I decided to install BDS add-a-leafs which added 1.5" to the rear which gave me about an inch of rake, exactly what I wanted. As for the ride with the add a leafs, I forget they're even there! Still an awesome ride!

Great experience with this setup. Hope this info helps you out with ur decision.

Keep in mind that the upgradable leaf springs they sell with the kit and Add-a-leafs are completely different items, but do pretty much the same thing.

I appreciate the help! Also, TX_AT, do you have any current pictures of your set up? Can you send me a link to the BDS add-a-leafs that you went with?

Thanks for the help!

Click on accessories, then to Add-a-leafs

These are listed for 1999 - 2016 on website, even though my label shows different. No need to add longer U bolts as u can reuse the ones that come with your kit.

Finally had time to take some yesterday. Maybe next time I'll wash it before taking pics.fd4b44f97a5a4dff59a0ccee2dee6105.jpg0160d63d744e380599fd9d751864e9e8.jpg

That looks good!! With those tires on there have you noticed any difference in the way it runs and drives?

Nothing drastic. I've been completely satisfied with my two sets of Toyo MT. I had 275/65 when the truck was leveled & now 35x12.5 with the lift.

You got any shots from behind?? I was thinking about the 4 but now seeing your truck again makes me want the 6"

I just dont want the ass way up in the air to where you can see the rear diff too much where it looks skimpy
