How many 2015's were made.

Hey guys, new to the forum.

 

I have a 2015 cc Silverado 4x4. The last 6 of my vin are 567,xxx. Build date of 10/15. I'm just curious as to when they started the 2016 changeover.

 

Reading these forums has me a little nervous about all of the problems people have been experiencing with these trucks. I have just over 2000 on mine, and so far so good (knock on wood)

2016 full size pickup production started early October. Exact date depended on which plant.

 

Used to always be shutdown was 2 weeks, don't know if that's still true.

How do you tell when they were built? Didn't that info used to be in the door jamb?

Yes, or ask the dealer for a build sheet. I think the door jamb just has month and year, but the build sheet has month, day, and year.

Last I knew they put a tag on the D/S of the frame that tells the time the truck build was started...

I wouldn't worry to much about the problems you read about. The vast majority of us are problem free and quiet I have had my truck for a year now and other then the update for the auto 4X4 it has been 100% trouble free for 30,000 km. I love my truck more today then the day I purchased it!

There was a small piece of paper in with my owners manual stuff,that had build date and time. Mine was built on 7-29-15 at 959 am.
