DIY Led bed lights

Didnt feel like spendi g 100 bucks, found everything in my garage so decided to give it a shot.

I used the stock blank plug. Just drilled out the corresponding holes.

Stripped inserted the wires. Soldered them on. When pushing them in place just make sure the orientation is correct, otherwise the terminals wont line up.

Ran my wires, installed the strip lights and they work.

Pics too big. When i get a chance ill post them

Thanks for the write up. I think i am going to go this route as well. Couple questions:

1. When you said "soldered them on" what are you referring to there?

2. Wasnt sure what you used those gold connectors for? See pic below

I soldered that connector to the wires. That connector fits in the white plug after i drilled the hole.

Is that just a 16-14 disconnect terminal? Also, the picture is a little blurry, which end connects to the wire and which end sticks through the drilled hole? I wasn't quite sure about your note about the orientation being correct.

Gold connector gets inserted into the holes u drill in the blank plug. Make sure u put the wires through the holes first before soldering on the connectors
