I own a 2014 gmc Sierra with a 6in fab Tec lift and 35s,my question for lifted truck owners is does your truck vibrate and shake? I have had my truck in the shop so many times for this issue that I have lost count. Every time I go there they tell me nothing is wrong and that's how a lifted truck rides. I bought my truck new in 14 with the lift and tires installed by dealer so I don't know how it rode before the modifications were made.

What rims and tires are your running?

 

As mention in the post before, have the tires balanced on the road force balance as this tends to help.

 

I have a 2015 with a 6in RCX lift and 35" BFG ATs on the Stock 20" High Country rims and my truck has zero vibration. I few truck ago I stopped going with aftermarket rims due to some of the imperfections from aftermarket rims and constant vibrations. Tires also play roll into this as well. OEM wheels are built to a certain spec and are generally high quality rims that will always balance out.

I'm running 35" toyos with xd 20" rims. (they are what the truck came with)They were rebalanced about 8k miles ago and did nothing to stop the vibration/shaking of truck. I'm so mad at them telling me that it's normal. I did drive another lifted truck off the lot with Mickey Thompson's and different wheels and it rode worse then mine.

My '95 Burb has a 6'' Pro Comp lift with 305/70r/16 Hankook DynaPro M/T tires on 16x10 wheels(not sure of the mfgr.) and is smooth as silk at any speed even at 80mph.I tow a 21' toy hauler at times and it still rides smooth.I can take my hands off the steering wheel at any speed and it still drives smooth and straight.I get some tire noise because of the M/Ts but acceptable and much better than the BFG KM2s I had on it before.

 

Maybe I'm just lucky :dunno:

That is awful that your truck vibrates, and will say mine does not at all. Will ask about what tires you have. Depending on how aggressive the tread the lugs can make you feel like there is a shimmy at low speeds.

Yes hotrodz37 I have read that whole thread and even mentioned it to my dealer at least 10 times and they always blow me off telling me its my lift. I have a bbb case started and will see where that goes. I'm not looking for a new truck as I have way to much money in this one I want the dam thing fixed

Mine vibrated from the u-bolts in the rear not being torqued to spec.... Mine were loose, they need to be around 135 ft. lbs. I believe. It fixed my problem. Worth checking just in case, all you need is a torque wrench and some elbow grease.

Zach, 135 seems extremely tight - are you sure thats what they were torqued to? Spec is 78lbs, mine were less than that from the factory, and I have torqued mine up to 95 ft/lbs with no luck. If you think yours are at 135 and it cured your vibe I am definitely willing to try it, just wanted to double check with you first. Thanks!

135 for sure cured my vibration, but yours may not need as much. Maybe try going up 10 ft. lbs. at a time and ride around for a week between each interval so everything can settle, and see If you notice any difference. I know my truck took a few hours of ride time after torquing to noticeably settle down and ride smoothly.

I have a 15 Sierra CC z71 with 5 inch RCX lift and toyo open country on aftermarket wheels...

 

1..do you have hubcentric rings for your wheels if not that can cause a vibration..

 

2.are you running any wheel spacers..?..if so they need to be hubcentric and wheels centric or that will also cause a vibration

 

that said I am running wheels spacers with my lift and aftermarket wheels and mine rides smooth. Hope this helps.

      Which one, the AT or AS?   Starfire is made by Cooper/Goodyear but at $85/tire I'd think I'd need to level-set my expectations that they may not even be round 😉 But you're saying they're decent?   I'm already into this thing $1506 in parts, fluids, etc. Totaled all my receipts today. $250 of that was replacing an EGR and MAP sensor that were probably fine, but I'm not going to return the parts since they've been installed. I'm cheap, but not that cheap. I use it, I keep it!   I may or may not make money if I sell the truck at this point, but, that wasn't really the point. And if I billed my time, I'd be hosed for real. My thought on the tires is I "might" put 1,000 miles on before selling it. I just don't want to put absolute junk on it, that doesn't do anyone any good. If the Solus solidly isn't junk, I'll definitely consider them.

      I leave mine as is. I'm always a trip away from riding on unpaved roads. Dealer can clean it when they prep it after I trade it in for another new truck.

      4WD. Far as I know it came stock with P's and not LT's. Definitely planning to put P's on it, but stock is a 109 XL load rating so I should probably stick within that guideline.   No rebates on anything I can see at the moment. Discount Tire is offering $50 off, but Pep Boys is very competitive on price, and also carries all the off-brand stuff. Les Schwab always wants an arm/leg, but they do good work.   It still has the original spare. Goodyear Wrangler RT/S, thing looks like a tractor tire LOL!! How times have changed.

      2020 Sierra 2500 HD (base model) gas engine 4wd.    All 4 windows roll down on their own. Happens somewhat randomly after stop and engine off - when engine turned off, when walking away from vehicle before or after locks activated. Pulled the window fuse F14 Instrument Panel Fuse Block Right; the driver's side still activates from driver's side door panel; passenger and back seat windows activate from local switches on their doors but not from driver's side group of switches. Power mirrors don't activate with fuse removed either (same fuse for both circuits). Problem not solved.    How can they even activate with fuse removed but they are all still opening and can control from each door?  When they open on their own, I can shut them from the switch in each door, but they don't stay closed.    Seems to be activated somehow with key fob; something bumping the key fob in my pocket or just handling - removed key fob and took it far enough away and now the windows stay closed. Replaced key fob batty just in case, no change.    Sounds like some kind of wiring short or maybe electronics. Dealer will first replace electronic control module without checking anything else and I anticipate problem will still exist since their troubleshooting skills are limited to "do whatever the computer says".  In any case, keyfob seems to be activating the circuitry.    Surely I'm not the only one with this issue, but I can't find anything related on the site. What do yall think?   JohnRoy
