94 Silverado water leaking under passenger carpet

Just picked up a super clean and original 94 c1500. Rained all day today and yesterday. After the rain I noticed my carpet on the passenger side down by the kick panel and sill plate is soaked. It appears the water is coming down the firewall and going UNDER the carpet. Then is making its way down to the low spot by the door.

Just wanted to see if anyone else has this issue and where is a likely culprit. I'm gonna pull the cowl grate off and see what I see. But if anyone knows of a specific thing to look for that would be great. Maybe a clogged drain or such.

I would have to agree with Enthusiast.

I think that it would be more along the lines of the heater core or hoses, just because you said that the truck is so clean or well kept. If you think it is just coming in and down the firewall, take a bucket and fill with water and dump on the windshield as see if you can find a leak.

see if the wetness is sticky or smells like coolant. I would have to say it sounds like the heater core is clogged or went bad and started leaking. This usually makes the windshield fog up sometimes as well. However you will see a loss in coolant.

Let us know how it goes for you.

Heater core is easy to track but it also could be the rubber at the base of the window has shrunk or peeled away. My leak is there. found it running a hose over it. Floorboard is soaked.

Update: 2 weeks of searching and searching for this friggin leak. Its definetly NOT the heater core. But i already knew that in the first place. This is straight water and it only happens when it rains. Ive pulled all the carpet and seats out to dry everything off. Ive pulled the cowl plate and dumped water everywhere imaginable. Ive leak tested the windshield using air and soapy water. No leak. The water drains into the cowl and out the drain just as it should. But yet everytime it rains i have a puddle on the bare metal floorboard. I can spray the entire truck down and no leak. But somehow when it rains it finds a way in. Im baffled. I really really dont want to have to pull the dash and heater core out just to search for a leak but i may have to.

Mine was doing same thing.I used clear silicone and smudged it Into the top of the Wind sheid windowsill behind Rubber and down the sides, also when I looked up through the dash from the floor board I could see pinholes of light So I removed the cowl from behind the hood and silicon each hole that I seen before reinstalling not sure exactly which one of the two fixed my leak but it is now fixed hopefully this will help someone out good luck
