Truck didn't start this morning

And with a decent battery attached the load is still insignificant enough it doesn't matter as those modules power down with the truck off. It's a battery problem with Delco... not the trucks. Their batteries have been junk for a while.... my 05 is a great example. Kill a Delco sitting for 2 weeks... must be the truck... never get more than a year from the Delco... must be the truck. I warrantied ar least 3 Delco replacement batteries on that truck alone....I left it sit for over 6 weeks with the Odyssey in it and it fires up like you started it yesterday and surpassed the magic year of Delco demise... It's not the truck lol. My 2015 I abuse for 8 days of sitting outside in winter at work... I fire it up and it runs for 30 seconds to move it and off again... so the battery never gets charged. Doesn't go dead either. ... but no Delco in it anymore. Getting a year or 2 from the oem battery in the mild climates most of you live in is pretty sad.

What Odyssey model number did you buy?

I just have the pc1220 in mine... it's like 680 CCA and kicks the truck over like nothing even after leaving it outdoors all the time. They do make a 720 CCA version under the 48-720 but it's a cheaper line battery I didn't want. The pc 1220 has a pulse cranking amp they call it on initial crank and it's 1220 CCA so it's plenty big... It's a deep cycle battery and I really like them.

That helps, thanks. I found several web sites for Odyssey, but nothing that helps list application by vehicle. My next step was to look by spec. I'm going to use the new ACDelco that the dealer put in for now, but will keep this in mind (not expecting long life). Thanks again...

Yeah the application guides online are useless lol. It's a direct fit and that junction box clips right on the pc1220 just like it did on the stock Delco. I could have complained I am sure and got a new one but I just didn't want to be bothered. This is my company truck and I want it to be reliable lol.

My main reason for taking it to the dealer was to have them check out the system. I still have 9 months left on warranty and wanted any electric issues documented. Good news it was just a battery. I've used Optima Red Top and Autozone Duralst Gold and had good success with both. I see that Batteries Plus carries the Odyssey. Hmmm.

Being my truck died within a week of it leaving the dealer lot I had a hunch it was a crummy battery... and I love Delco batteries just so much anyway. It's been perfect since and confirmed my suspicion.

We use Odyssey/EnerSys batteries and chargers at work. They make excellent products. No matter how hard my dumb co-workers abuse them, they bounce right back after I equalize them.
