My Blizzaks are about 70% worn. Still very far from the wear bars. Very noticeable difference in traction than when they were new. They now hydroplane on the snow & slush. I used to be able to plow through snow like an animal. No more......

Ok....well...Blizzaks are known for wearing out faster. They are made of a softer rubber, hence the better snow/ice traction. And on a big heavy truck...I bet they wear out faster than a car or small SUV.

How many miles did you get out of them?

It's my 4th season on them, and I will run them for the remainder of the season. I have the exact mileage at home on a spread sheet. I will have to look at it later.

Bridgestone Blizzak line is dual compound, meaning the first 50-60% is an ultra soft, open-cell type compound akin to sponge; the structure wicks/mops the water formed when ice is compressed which in turn giving less chance of hydroplanning and more control. The second half of the tread depth is an all-season compound.

this year for the winter i decided to go with a dedicated set of snow on a spare set of wheels . joined a snow plowing forum just to see what they are using. was recommended either the cooper m&s or firestone winter force. i bought the coopers and went to a 235/80/18 instead of the stock 265/70/18. swapped them out right before the blizzard here in ny at end of January.left for work that Saturday morning with 2-3 on ground and quickly felt the difference. left work that night with 20 inches on ground and main roads shut down so it was an 18 mile ride through back roads to get home. tires were amazing and the bite on the snow and packed snow was a huge difference over the michelin ltx at2 that i had on there. they will be swapped back once the weather warms but i should have done this years ago

I found my problem. 3 tires have 7/32's remaining. 1 tire in the front only has 4/32's remaining. That's why I'm into the ABS, and losing steering control. How & why 1 tire is wearing much faster is another problem.....
