Why does it matter which one is done first? Are they both original fluids?

The coolant is DIY job and the transmission not so much as far as I'm concerned.

Trans flush is a waste. Drop the pan, change the filter, fill it up. It can't hurt to change the hoses when you do the coolant either.

DO NOT Flush as mentioned. Drop pan, new filter refill. Consider taking and having fluid exchange ($125.00 here) done to remove all old fluid. I use Jiffy Lube. Filter and fluid exchange around here is about $250 $300. Save a few bucks doing filter your self.

At 8 years old, you're long past due for a brake fluid flush as well. Brake fluid absorbs water and you don't want your master cylinder, calipers, drum brake cylinders and brake lines rusting from the inside out. I do mine every 4 years.

If you don't have a pressure bleeder, let a dealer or a trusted mechanic do the job. I think the dealer only charged me $80 to do it.
