Headlight led strips

OK so I know this may not be for everyone. After getting the truck I was envious of the gmc's upper and lower led rows, so I bought a set of cheap white led strips and installed them below the headlights between the valance. I really liked it and thought it looked good but being cheap LEDs the pass side quit working. So I would like to have something again but don't feel like going thru removing the grill and headlights again to make them fit. Curious on you guys that like LEDs where they may look the best. I get some will think they're stupid thats why I'm only asking them that like them

That was my thought. I found some led strips that give off a real nice white but you can see the circuitry which is not nice to the eye or ascetics..like this

Putco makes some real nice LEDs but at 150 I'm gonna still see if I can find the strips with the circuitry covered

I was unhappy with the Putco ones and Putco customer service. Very slow to respond to my emails to warranty them

Did they blow out too? The design I like but I feel I can get that same result but cheaper

If you are careful (and patient) you could tape off the LED diodes then paint the strip flat black so the circuitry is covered. Then install them like the Putcos and they should look similar.

^^^^ thats a good idea. I could def do that and be patient at it. My only concern is another " moving part" to fail as in the paint chipping due to aging and the bend on the headlight

How I did my strip below the headlight was a silicone or something encased strip. The were side emitting diodes. At 15 bucks for the set it was a more proof of concept for me to see how they look as they said water resistant and although I put them in in November and had plenty of rain, snow and sleet on them lasted well for getting wet. To get them under there I had to remove the grill, bumper strip and headlights. Really not that hard minus being super careful with the bumper strip to not damage or crack it.

I had a maxima a few years ago and opened the headlights and placed led strips inside so I had no worries of water damage but I really don't wanna crack open brand spankin new headlights.

So do I find better, whiter, waterproof side emitters and redo what I had? Do I make it easy and make vertical ones that go between the headlight and grille?

Maybe a strip on each side between the bumper and bumper strip? Or????

Curious if one of these 3 places would look good. I wouldn't need to do much or any disassembly. Vertical seems the easiest but not sure on verticle???..

Between the bumper and bumper molding I like but not sure if its too low below the headlights???

Between or below the headlights will be your best bet. The other locations just look ricey IMO..

I know ... Thats why I haven't done anything yet. The in between the headlights is how I really want to do it but just making it semi invisible up close is the problem.
