My 87 year old Dad's Volvo has that along with "start-stop" idiocy. (engine turns off every time you come to a complete stop and then starts again when you hit gas pedal)

Took it one day into Savannah, for some beers with him and I'll tell ya, have yet to drive a more annoying vehicle, and pray I never do.

OP, get Forscan and enable secure idle. Ford should make that the default setting or at least allow you to set it in the settings.

 

With secure idle if the fob is removed after starting you can't put it in gear.

 

I guess if you're already in gear you're screwed. I haven't tried that.
