Speaker Problems

I am having a problem with the left side speakers on my '08 Silverado. Most of the time they don't work and my reception and sound on the right speakers is not very good. Then they will magically start working, the reception clears up and all is well. The left speakers also seem to affect the warning sound for the backup sensors.I imagine something is lose in the dash area.

How do I get the radio out and will I have to visit a dealer to have the radio reset? Any ideas as to what may be the problem?

Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

If you don't have a scope to see the RF on the speaker wires.. Then the guessing percentage would be the speaker or speaker wires. They have a tendency to get moisture on them and deteriorate over time. Like I said its just a guess.

All door chimes, key in ignition chimes, etc go through the driver door speaker.

Problem isn't the radio...it's the speakers (if they are the stock speakers). It's a well known issue that the stock speakers are crap. You're lucky to have made it this long with them. I had the same issues with mine after about 4 years. Got a couple of pairs of Kicker 3-ways and replaced the all the stock door speakers and haven't had any issues since then.

Thanks for the tips so far. The A pillar speaker also goes out at the same time as the door speaker, leading me to think it is a wiring problem. Looks like I have my project for next week.
