The spray-in bed liner is like 100 grit sandpaper...

My BedRug Mat is working out fine for addressing the rough factory sprayed in liner issues.

It is light and easy to remove when I need to carry dirty stuff, but protects my delicate cargo when installed.

Since I have a SolidFold cover I did not need to use the Velcro to keep it in place.

It was a great investment IMO.

I use these. The work well can easily use or remove them and as separate squares they are a lot easier to handle than a fullsize mat and clean up is a breeze.

Went grocery shopping in my new Sierra for the first time this weekend. Tied the bags closed and put them in the bed. When I got home, the bottoms of the bags were shredded from the spray in liner!!!

 

My Avalanche had the factory bed mat. It worked very well. The floor of the bed looks as good as new. So I think I will pick on up for the new Sierra too.

 

And, need to get a Tonneau cover as well. 13.5 Years with the Avalanche Bed Covers has me missing them.

Prefer drop ins myself. I never take it out, so I have no clue if the paint is scratched underneath. They get traded in with the truck.

 

I prefer them because:

A. On a day like today or Saturday when I'm transporting my Royalex canoe, the liner isn't sanding the shell off. (and they stopped making Royalex in 2013, so it's not like you can go buy another very easily)

B. In the winter when I'm carting wet, snowy ice fishing gear, the channels in the bottom keep my stuff out of the water.

C. Easy clean up, hose them off.

 

Stuff I don't want to slide I bungee or ratchet strap.

 

You'd think I would have remembered posting this back in March, but I bought a truck with the factory spray in and sanded my Royalex canoe.

 

So now I have a bed mat and a 2 X 4 nose guard to protect the canoe from the factory spray in- progress!

 

The spray in does look very nice though, I'll give you that.

Factory GM spray in liner is too slippery for me, I use a large plastic tote for items and it was always slid forward so I bought a deezee bed mat and it works great. Has a strong rubber smell but I am sure that will go away in a few weeks. Like the idea of being able to simply remove the rubber mat if I need to slide stuff in.
