Question for those running a 6" BDS lift.

Following this post closely. Currently running a 4" lift with 305/55/20-12. Wanting 35/12.5/20 or 22. I like the deep lip look of the -44 wheels, but not real crazy about how far they will stick out. My guy wants me to do a Mcgauphy 7-9 lift to run the 35's

So you're at a total of 7½" with 20x12-44? I'm looking to run 20x12's, and was told I would need 9" of lift. Yours looks awesome, I don't want the too much lift, not enough tire look. More photos would be great, if you don't mind. I'm on the fence about mcgauphy 7-9 or BDS 6, with adj coil overs. What do you think?

Yes, I'm at a total of 7.5". 6" BDS + 1.5" Zone BL + BDS AAL for a bit of rake.

 

Its hard to beat the ride of BDS and I highly recommend it. If ur set on going with 12s (-44) you will definitely need a body lift with the bds kit. Even with the BL they still had to cut a good amount of metal from behind the rear wheel well. You can't see any of the work because the liner covers everything.

Thank you, looks awesome! I'm torn between 10's, or 12's. My girl, and employees have tendencies to hit curbs from time to time, I'm thinking the buldge of the tire with 10" wheels will help protect the rim, make sense? Also, If my math is correct, I think I need to stay very close to 7" of lift to clear a 7' garage. I love the look of your stance, and the deep look of the 12" wheels on your truck.

I am running the Firestone Destination MT in a

35/12.5 R20.

 

Does anyone know what size Go Ordnance truck tires are in the picture he posted?

There is absolutly cutting involved in all the lifts. But nothing that can't be un-done(have no idea what would cause a person to do that though). As far as my cost goes, I shopped around and picked up the parts from different places to save myself money. I bought the 6" lift from a place called RockRidge4x4 and shipped to the door with upgrade to the Fox shocks for $1,956.57. I got the tires from thee local Firestone shop for $1,200, and the wheel spacers from TrailSport4x4 for $69.00. Then I made a deal with the local off road shop to trade my old parts and tires for a discounted installation price and settled on $600.00 including mount and balance and allignment. All together I spent $3,825.57.

Curious, was that price for the coilover kit or the standard kit? And how are you liking those leaf springs after several months have passed?

The price I paid was for the standard kit. To be completely honest I have had my truck lifted now for a little over a year and would do it again on a new truck if that were my situation. The only thing I didn't do which I wish I would have is buy the add a leaf kit because my truck sits just a bit lower in the rear than the front now that everything has settled.

Nice to hear you guys running the OEM 20 inch wheels. That is my plan, BDS 6 inch lift with 35's on oem 20's. BBS & Fabtech seem to have the best kits for the magneride system.

Hey Robert, nice looking truck did you run spacers on your oem rims? If so what in front and back? What tires did you use and how do you like them?

      Because single shot injectors are ancient and multi hole injectors provide smoother running engines and sharper throttle response due to the fuel being atomized better..the best lead I have is a 24lb blue top injector almost everything matches up but the injector will put out about 26lb/hr which is just outside the gm threshold.figured id ask here to see if there was an absolute answer

      Why is my question?   Any change in injectors requires a tune. Unless you are going back with the OEM part number or a newer part number of that same injector.   Any size difference or type difference like the EV6 style injectors all have different injector data for them. And there is no EV6 injector that matches the factory 25 lb/hr size that your truck comes with. I've been messing with these trucks and tuning them for a long time and what you trying to do doesn't exactly make sense to me.

      My 6.6 gas lt8 had lifter noise with 28000 miles bought new 2026 and while driven to dealer it threw #1 rod bearing “HD my ass” good luck with yours i hope it don’t turn a rod bearing!

      Thought it was raining this morning when we woke. Nope. Dew point was over 80 F and humidity 98%. Zero visibility distance. Everything was 'sweating'. I've seen rain come out of clouds but never out of Pepper or the tree trunks.    Wicked storms just missed us sliding off to the east but by blocks. Heat index about 110 F with air temp in the 90's.    This is  our third wave this month of multiple days of this type of weather. And yet the grass is going dormant and the ground is cracking this side of the street and water up the the hood opposite. Just weird stuff going on.
