Opt7 CREE fog lights install

Hello, after having pretty good success with the opt7 fluxbeam headlight bulb, I went ahead and got some Opt-7 matching fog lights in 5202 size:

I got them today, went under my bumper and figured this should be an easy two minute job, but was definitely wrong on that count. It seems like the fog light sits 1-2mm too high before making contact with the little plastic hooks that hold it into place. I thought at first it was the outer bars on the side of the light causing the issue (the ones that keep you from putting them in upside down) but after trying to cut them first with scissors and then later completely taking all three off with a grinding wheel it didn't seem to help.

Eventually after severely deforming the clips by forcing them forward with a flat head screwdriver I was able to get the top clip to lock in on one side and the bottom clip to lock in on the other, which seems secure enough, but I'm still not sure if they will be hanging the first time I hit a bump.

Anyway, if anyone knows how to get them to fit better let me know, if not I would recommend you get a different brand of LED fog lights as these are a little tricky to get on. I'll try to get some night pictures of just the fogs, just the headlights, and both on here sometime

Here is an album with opt7 fluxbeam only, opt7 cree fogs only, and both. One set on a street, another set facing a garage. You'll see the low beam projector housing has a nice cutoff, while the fog lights seem to throw light much higher (might blind traffic) I didnt notice much of a difference in terms of distance between the two, but havent examined the photos too closely yet

Oh yeah, one last photo of the front:

I might do a similar comparison of the low beams to the stock halogen high beam to see how the "throw" distance compares, but I'll save that for another night

So, would anyone recommend these fog light bulbs? I would love to have a matching set of fogs to go with the low beams. On the other hand, I do have a buddy who got a $30 pair of fogs that match the OPT7 headlights as far as the color. He didn't have any complaints as far as installation or anything.

They look like they throw some decent light. I was on a north to south and back trip from Mass to FL and as I don't really drive at night usually, I noticed everyone else's lights much much brighter than mine. Not impressed w the stock Silverado light output. Would the fog's and fluxbeam headlight bulbs outdo the stocks. Don't care about lighting up the next town just want that whiter look and a better throw than stock.
