LED in Projectors

I'm not reading through 70 pages of bulbs........

Has anyone actually used these LED's in a 14-15 with the LTZ Z71 Projector headlights? These look pretty much like rebranded Putco so either one is fine.

I just want to know if they actually do anything or do they scatter like bad HID's. I did read this type and mesh fan will fit inside the headlight compartment with no issues.

I got these lights in my Sierra right now with the projectors. As long as you install them with the LED lights at the 9 and 3 locations they perform pretty good. Not full HID brightness good, but better than stock lights IMO. I did get my trucks lights re-flashed since they were part of the early 2014 models with only 12 Volts instead of the 14 volts going to the headlights and that seemed to help improve the quality of the lighting also. For the price and non retro fitting my headlights with new projectors. I think they did just fine.

Great! That's what I wanted to know.

I'm thinking of getting both low and high from Xenon.

Also, did you get CANBUS?

I have them as well and as stated previously, they are a big improvement over stock IMO. For the price, I think they are the best alternative to the crap stock lights. Mine have been going strong for over a year with no canbus. Not sure if you will need for a Silvy but I have been more than pleased with mine.

I can't find anything that tells me I use CANBUS bulbs or not.

I actually have a set you can buy from me for $70. I had them on my 2015 all-terrain but I just bought a 2016 denali. Message me and we can talk. Oh, I have the can bus too. They are 1 month old, only used a week.d1208250c988ac56a6bca46311d867d7.jpg

I haven't made a decision yet. My issue is the only people I know who have these are Sierra owners. I would like to find people who have Silverados with them. I don't want to spend over $200 to find out they don't work in projectors or the regular high beam reflectors.

I'll ping you if I change my mind tho.

Sierra bulbs are different from the silverado H11 bulb.

I have these exact bulbs in my 2014 silverado for low beams and they work great - I did buy the canbus as well, but I've heard users say they didn't need it. Also bought the fog lights from XD.

What are you using for high beams?

Did you have to twist the bulb any certain way or did you just twist to full lock?

Did everything, including CANBUS, fit inside the dust cap?

FINALLY found someone who has them in Chevy haha.

I've left the stock halogen in for high beams as I never actually use these/needed these...

Twists right into place just like a regular halogen bulb, you'll be able to tell once it's in place.

I have the Eagle Eye LTZ headlights so I can't speak for fitting with the OEM dust caps...I did have to modify my dust cap to fit the 4 pieces of heat reducing metal behind the bulb.

But I sealed with foil tape & silicone so it is water-tight again.

I've sent out lots of pictures to people who have been interested haha, just didn't see your post!

There are some newer design higher wattage LEDs out now, just a bunch of no name chinese companies. I have the 8000lm Starnil's in my factory projectors and they are OK but not great, one just started flashing. I have run the partsam (putco off brand) fogs and they are really pretty good.

Amazon now has some 110w 11000lm rated H11's out there I would like to try but dont want to be the guinea pig. Not convinced any of these overseas lights are going to last for any real amount of time. My Starnil's are 7 months old and the drivers side is intermittently starting to flicker then come on full bright. Thinking about just putting a 5000k 55w DDM tuning HID kit and be done with it. they seem to last pretty well and are readily available if you need replacements.

Actually looking for LED recommendations, and wanting to know if anyone has tried the 2016 ebay/amazon high output stuff.

How is your light output chevyroofer?

This not so great review has kept me from putting them in my ltz lights.

I live in Austin so we have streets with streetlights and without streetlights - typically at night I keep both my fogs on and low beams and I can see great. I turned off my fogs the other night in a dark area and just had these low beams on and could easily see in front of me without a problem.

Would HID beams be brighter and extend further out? Yes, LED technology has not caught up to HID output, but for LED's, mine work as advertised and 100% function.
