TRS Morimoto auestions

Hey everyone. I have a 2016 SLT that has factory HID projectors and LED fogs.

 

My questions are:

 

- can I just buy the Morimoto bulbs and plug/play into my stock projectors?

 

- will the 2015 Morimoto fog lights work in the 2016 housing?

 

I will call TRS tomorrow but figured I'd ask here in the meantime.

First off. Sorry about the misspelled title. Second, my wife just got back with the truck and I see the fogs are different on the 2016 so I assume my second question is a no.

The 2016's are good to go as they are. No need to change out the lighting. It already has the superior HID/LED lighting, so there's nothing to really change.

Good to know. I just took it out to check out the lights on a super dark road. Definitely surprised me and the cutoff was pretty good.

Good to know the OEM lighting is up to snuff on the 2016 models. My headlights on both 14 and 15 AT's were atrocious before installing the Sierra Spec kit from TRS. I highly recommend these to anyone looking at replacing the OEM bulbs on their 2014-2015 1500 SLT or Sierra Denali trucks. Can't vouch for SLE or lower trims because I have never seen them installed on those trims. Someone else may chime in with their experience.

The SLT has LED lighting not HID so you cant swap them. The SLE has HID. Have you driven it at night? The 16s are like a sun on wheels coming down the road compared to the 14-15's. Thats what I put the 16 lights in my 14.

The DTRL are LED strips in that shape of a "C" but the actually headlight should be an HID, right? The window sticker says HID projector with LED. So I assume that means the headlamps are HID with the LED strip around that comes on when in gear during the day.

Thats weird. I'll have to look at my friends window sticker later on. I installed the 16 SLT lights in my truck and at the right angle you can actually see the LEDs in the projector.

Hmm, that's it. Running outside and gonna see if I can see the LEDs in the projectors. I've never seen LEDs in projectors. Cool!!!

I have. They are very good lights. Cutoff is clean too. The auto high beams function is cool as hell too.
