2015 Intake and exhaust combo recommendations

2015 Silverado Crew Cab, LT, 5.3L, 4" Fabtech Suspension and 1.25" Rough Country body lift.

 

I've been hearing that a cold air intake may not be the best option for my truck because it will not be compatible with the computer and I could have issues with the check engine light. I had originally wanted to get a K&N cold air intake and some sort of exhaust that isn't obnoxious but can get loud when you put the pedal down. Something that won't wake up my son when I crank the truck up. Any suggestions?

Airaid mit tube.

...either stock filter or your choice of dry or oiled filter...14" magnaflow muffler...single in single out angry wot...agressive sound when in it...quiet when cruising....my .02

Totally not true about the computer compatibility. I have a Cold Air Inductions kit and I love it. I would replace the factory muffler and remove the resonator. There are many people on here who recommend one muffler over another, I went with a Borla XR1 and couldn't be happier with the sound. There are clips all over youtube to give you an idea of what each sounds like.

Do you have any sound clips of yours? I have a 5.3 double cab standard box and want to do a borla muffler but want to make sure I know exactly what to tell muffler shop so they don't mess up. Do they need to replace pipes and if so which ones and what size etc.

I don't have a clip and am away from the truck for a few days but here is a similar setup to mine. He left in the flapper valve which I did not.

They will run new pipe (3") from the muffler back and install the tip of your choice or you can just run pipe out the side like the stock setup.
