thearizonacowboy Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Hey all, I just installed a Baja Kits valence on my 15' and I love it. However, what in the hell are these?? They look ridiculous lol. Can I just cut them and move on?
crankman Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 My service manager told me they were used during the truck building phase at the factory. I did remove mine on my 2008 1500 to allow me to put a hidden winch kit. Never had a issue due to there removal. I took a portaband saw and just sliced them off, took a small grinder smoothed it up and went on with my project.

bdbake01 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Frame locators during assembly. Hack them off if you wish.

Steveman Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I was told they were a safety feature for if you were to rear end a car or something like that, those things would actually "catch" the object and help stop your truck from going more on top of the vehicle.
bdbake01 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 As they are normally hidden behind the bumper, I don't see them being designed to catch anything. Catch the bumper maybe.
