post-152013-146683193803_thumb.jpg well people I'm going back in time for as long as I can. I recently sold my daily driver it was a 14 chevy sonic 1.4 liter turbocharged great little car. But I'm working on getting debt free . I still have my 1st love 1978 chevy, bonanza package big 10. I got her running needs some tlc. I spent a ton of money on her back in my earlier twentys. She didn't always look like this. Anyways I do still have my 2014 cc 5.3 as the family grocery getter. And we absolutely love the truck. I'll be driving the 78 to save money in the long run. So I'll keep pictures coming and improvements along the way. She fired right up after a very very long sit out side. But 1st new carburetor & intake combo new shocks new tires fresh oil . Maybe new high performance distributor and wires, i really want a set of electric fans. I have already drop the transmission pan and change filter and some fluid, hoping the old th350 can hold up just a little longer

True story I have never had any kind of work or service done to the tranny in 16+yrs. I feel like I'm twenty again my wife ok me to drive and work on the oldblue again post-152013-146683291846_thumb.jpg

What was the "Big Ten" thing on the trucks from back then? There were some fancy decals or badges on the Chevy trucks from the 70s and early 80s.

Yes sir. It's a big 10 bonanza package

It's a heavier duty 1/2ton

Parts are here!!! post-152013-146803864405_thumb.jpgpost-152013-146803865364_thumb.jpgpost-152013-146803866174_thumb.jpg I drove it to work for the first time in Over 10yrs.. I do REMEMBER for sure it got better than 7 mpg FORSURE back then. It's got a miss to it. So hopefully this will clear all that up. And get me back to 14 15mpg. Getting all the parts put on this weekend , THE Edelbrock carburetor I put on in high school is still kicking. I think it's been rebuilt, but anyway I'm thinking of going ahead and pulling the trigger and getting a new 1 the 1 that's tuned for economy and mild performance

Well this is it for now. I bested 10mpg so far. Idk how accurate the odometer is anymore. Had the carburetor adjusted its better but. I'm thinking I'm going to go ahead and buy a new carburetor& and a new airfilter. That's why I haven't posted a picture yet with the old airfilter on it. It makes it look bad lol. But the new intake and HEI really woke it up. Suprising it's quite it er. And excelleration it much improved very happy so far. But have found a lot more stuff to buy. Will post more pictures soon
