Sliding rear window trim

One thing that annoys me about my truck is the flat black trim above and below the SRW. I'm thinking of covering the trim with gloss black vinyl to make it blend in with the glass better. Has anyone seen the trim wrapped or painted gloss black?

I totally agree - I'm interested in seeing what others have done or are planning to do too....it's not even a nice flat black, just looks like dirty black to me

I finally got around to laying down some vinyl. I used matte black. The trim isn't perfectly flat so gloss vinyl would really let the imperfections show. The vinyl matches the door window trim perfectly.

I was planning to do mine in gloss this spring when the weather is finally settled. I didn't notice the imperfect surface. Now I am not sure.

You can see the waves in the surface on the top. The bottom is without the vinyl.

 

 

In the sunlight, the matte vinyl blends with the glass much better than the flat black trim

Really hoping the 18/19 model has a bigger back window like a Nissan or all the way down like a Toyota. C'mon GM, time to step up your game.
