MyLink Text "Reading" Issue when there is a Picture

I know there has to be a post about this, but could not find one via search. Love how I can have my texts read outloud by the MyLink system, except one big problem. When someone send a picture the voice starts reading the code behind it and rattles on for like 10 minutes babbling numbers and letters. There is no way to stop this, unless you turn off the truck.

 

Do they have a software update for this at the dealer?

There is a cancel button on the touch screen, lower left corner I think. The system will also not read group messages correctly, it does the same thing before and after the actual text of the message. I have talked to tech support about this and was told the system was not designed to handle these messages. The problem I have with that statement is there is no way to tell what kind of message it is before you hit listen. Basically, this is just like everything else on the truck, it is operating as expected.

I have no problem if it can't read the group message, or if it cant display or handle the picture. I just rather it not do anything than go all wonky with the reading of digits for 10 minutes.

 

I did not see a cancel button, will have to check on that.

Yep, same issue here.

 

What I really hate is when you reply to a text. After the text is read out loud you can pick from pre-defined replies to send. The problem is only 3 replies show up on the center screen. If you have more than that a scroll bar appears on the right but when you try to scroll down the screen says you can't do it because the vehicle is in motion!

To stop the 10 minutes of rambling you can hit the voice command button on the wheel and then immediately end it. It has saved me more than once!
