How does the Z71 on the grille attach for 16

I just picked up some black and Chrome Z71 emblems and now I am not sure how the grille one attaches. I am going to pull the grill tomorrow but I wondered if anyone has removed/replaced one on a 16

It came with an attachment piece but it may not apply to this year. I am thinking I may have to go with 3M tape

OE badge is the same 2014-2016. The new one you got (hopefully) should have double sided tape as the OE badge is double side tape right to that spot on the grille.

New grille one does not have the tape already. It came with the mount and screw you see there. I think you are right though. However, I did feel what felt like two small tabs sticking through the grille like the badge was pinned on.

That's exactly the same one I bought for on my truck only in red.

Yep, same one.

It looks like a retro fit piece. Not sure OEM install is the same. At least, not any more

Look for insight so I only have to remove the grille once tomorrow with all the pieces and info in hand.

The one on my '14 is just double sided tape with a couple little pegs to help align it so I would assume it's the same for the '16. Personally I would put some good double sided tape to attach it. I think that setup is more or less to be universal.

Pins for alignment makes sense. That eases my mind on the pins... Good to hear. I have the 3M tape ready.

Yup same attachment as Daryl, very easy to install. Just don't over tighten and snap the grill.

Grille removed by pulling 14 plastic rivets and 4-10mm bolts then a couple of firm pulls.

I know black looks good as an accent on a white truck. But, if that was my truck I would have done it in white because the Z easily gets lost in the grille.

I thought about color matching mine but I don't mind the red and white to give it at least some contrast like the chrome does. I do want to change the bumpers to black chrome though so it's not so much chrome. When I was younger I was in my chrome phase where I wanted everything chrome. Now I still like chrome but not too much.
