campers/ recommended camper for shortbed

Not a big fan of the 4 wheel drive campers myself - they seem pricey for what you get.

However, it looks like there are some smaller campers coming out for the ultra-short bed, that would match well with our payload. Travel Lite, has 2 smaller campers then the original poster posted. The 625's dry weight is right under the payload (wet would go over), and they came out with a brand new one in 2017 called the Travel Lite air, which would allow for more wet weight, or trailer tow. The only issue for me with the Travel Lite Air is no water heater, or outdoor shower.

I also found a company here in Texas Capri camper that makes a ultra-short camper, has a water heater and outdoor shower, not a fan of the wood paneling inside. Unfortunately, it's only a 55" cabover bed, versus the Travel Lite 79" bed.

Seems like us 1/2 ton ultra short beds are getting some love in the truck camper market. It was only a matter of time given the popularity of these trucks.

I have also been looking at some of the ultra light weight top folding down slide in campers.  The one made in Iowa is 72 inches or 6 ft long and my bed in my 2014  Silverado is  5 ft 9 inches.... and weight at 1300 lbs. No water or gray water will be carried. Basically a place to cook and place to sleep.  Plus enough room for our small dog. No trailer to back up and leave behind, just drive and go.

this the one intended for ours > http://bundutecusa.com/truck-campers/bundukort/

plain Jane but beats trying to put up a tent in the rain, or tow a trailer through a major city and in a traffic jam.

It was noted elsewhere 50% or so of the new trucks being sold today have the ultra short box.
