i'm in the market for a camper for my truck, im looking at a Travel Lite 770 its 1335 lbs, yall think i will need an airbag?

im buying the camper from 600 miles away,Travel-Lite-770-R-Exterior.jpg

I don't think GM recommends putting a camper in the bed of the 1500s. You may want to check it out if you don't have an HD.

Is it the 6ft6 box or the 5ft8 box? No campers allowed on the 5ft8 box.

Says short bed in his profile, my guess is the 5 foot 8 inch box

yeah, it says no camper inside the glove box sticker.

the camper is 1335 lbs and i know im going against recommendations, thats why im contemplating installing airbag helpers

Let's hazard a guess here and assume you have around 1600 pounds of payload.

Subtract 13xx for camper, that leaves you around 300 pounds.

Subtract yourself, gear, water, and a spare pair of underwear, you'll be OVER....

Maybe look at something like this:

http://www.fwcjh.com...ck-5-8-be/c1198

"The Raven is specifically designed by Four Wheel Campers to fit on full size quad cab truck with 5’8” “short” bed.

The camper fits flush with the bed to allow for ease of towing, and it’s lightweight enough for a half ton truck."

with the airbags im helping the truck tho, im getting a small trailer for atv, so i can jus put shit ther like water gallons, etc

Adding a trailer uses more payload from the tongue weight. Again, you will be over your payload, likely by a lot.

Buy a small toy hauler with sleeping quarters, you will be be way better off.

I ended up not buying a camper. Decided to go the route of a pop up trailer. Didn't like how much storage I was going to lose.
