Has anyone Lemon Lawed their truck and had success?

I am on my 5th visit to the dealer for wheels, tires, vibrations and now radio issues. Totally unacceptable for a vehicle costing over $51000!

Trying to weigh my options of continuing to play the dealer service game, or just push to get rid of this lemon and find something else.

Thoughts?

I have never had the need to follow this process (thank goodness).

That being said, if you are really thinking on these terms (and I am not passing judgement in any way), my recommendations would be the following:

1) Document--> Document--> Document

2) Contact your State attorney General, or whomever has purveyance over such issues in your state, and educate yourself on the appropriate approach

3) There are attorneys who specialize in this type of action. Maybe you want to seek advice from that venue as well.

4) I would prepare yourself for a long process

5) SOMEWHERE, the process is well documented for proceeding with a lemon law action. Insure that you follow the process to the letter --- thus, see number 3 above

Have you contacted GM ref your issues OUTSIDE of the dealer process (i.e. calling GM's customer service)? I know, probably a useless activity, but worth a shot none-the-less.

All of this being said, I am sorry that you have had this experience. I am sure it is frustrating beyond belief. I also agree that for a product priced north of $50k, it must be particular enraging.I wish you the best in getting your vehicle to the point that you are satisfied with it, whichever solution that may entail.

I lemon my 14 Sierra. It had been in the shop for 14 different occasions..seat moving, clunking, steering clicking , mildew smell a few times and a slew of other small other items. I called GM and told them I didn't want their lemon and they agreed it was a lemon. However they wanted to give me some small consolation prizes. ( extended warranty , free 1 month payment ) However time is money and I lost a lot of time going back and forth. So I told no thanks. I then registered my issues on Bbb.org. Within 2 weeks my case was being worked on. This time GM called me back and said if you don't go through the Bbb , we'll give you all your money back something I asked for from the get go. Once they saw I was not messing around they got serious. Within a month I had all my payments back plus my down.

Trust me bbb.org is your friend. They do everything for you.

Please remember though they had to have worked on issues 3 times and still issues for it to be lemon. It's not easy but my case was slam dunk. I was happy but at same time disappointed GM gave me run around, GM customer service is useless. They are based over seas and go over a script. Basically they can't think out side the box.

Get on bbb.org and don't waste another min. Good luck mate

Lemon laws seem to vary from state to state with some states being more consumer friendly than others. Texas seems to be more dealer friendly than consumer friendly. It's been a few years since I looked at this so I may be off a bit on the specifics but I do remember that the first repair attempt had to be documented early, like within 180 days of purchase so if the problem shows up a year after you bought it, you can't lemon law it even if they try to fix it 10 times. Luckily for me, the issue I had was resolved so I didn't look much further.

I have been doing a lot of reading and research, and I qualify on all levels. Texas has an arbitration clause, and the dealer has to have one last attempt to resolve the issues and then it heads to the Arbiter. I will post back as this unfolds.

I did on a 2013 Camaro in TX, We filed all the paper work in November of 2013 and it wasn't resolved until May of 14. If you move forward with it document everything, that includes video, pictures, dates, times and people you talked to. The other thing is be extremely patient. Once you get into the process GM will drag their feet on everything and try to low ball you to get the files closed out. Keep in mind this is how the industry works, the guy that was helping us at the lemon law office told us this is basically the SOP for all manufacturers.

If you have any questions PM me and I'll tell you my experience with it. I will caution you, mind what you post on forums they do monitor them.

I forgot to add to my post....I too thought it was a slam dunk....this just happened last month...I too was offered extended warranty and a couple of payments for my troubles...I felt it was a slap in the face for what I have been through I had everything documented and a couple of affidavits from people that had riden in my truck...the arbitrator didn't even want to see them..these testimonies we're notorized and I was told by the BBB auto line people they would carry weight....the arbitrator was a older gentleman who had a hard time getting in my truck...he drove it around about 4 square city blocks when I tried to make a comment when we felt the hard clunk and hard shifting he said comments couldn't be made during test drive..even a lady who was sitting in the back seat that worked for the local BBB office acknowledged she felt the clunks and shifts it didn't help my case....my truck is going back to the dealership on Monday.

I am in Texas as well, and I am working with my Dealer to try and avoid the process, but it is looking like I will have to go down that road.

My parents went through LL once. On a Ford, hahaha.

We had an 04 6.0 and it went to the shop close to 20 times I'd say. The turbo hose would blow off randomly and if under a load it would blow off. We ended up getting an 06 Duramax after Ford gave us the money for it.
