Bluetooth Text messages

I drive a 2016 1500 z71 cc non Bose and have an iPhone 6. I can get my phone to connect for phone calls but not text. Any suggestions? I have the show notifications button turned on in the settings of my phone?

I have the Bose radio so I can't be sure there is a difference but ...

 

Did you go into the head unit settings menu to find the text message activation section?

Didn't work. Notifications are enabled on my head unit and my phone. My buddies phone galaxy works but my iPhone doesnt

Sorry it didn't work. My IPhone 6 works fine.

Be happy it's not like my 2015. Every single time (no exaggeration either.... it's every time)my phone recieves a message it displays the sender on the dash and then disconnects from the truck...... and eventually reconnects...... Try that for fun!

My iPhone 6+ worked great, just couldn't send any quick replies. BUT, my iPhone 7+ will not display, nor read, my messages.

I had an issue with my iPhone and text messages before. Issue turned out that I had Siri deactivated on my iPhone (it's under the settings). Once I enabled it, it worked.

Did some more digging around the forum, found that one of my settings within Bluetooth on my phone, for MyLink, wasn't set right.

Go into your phone settings --> Bluetooth --> Chevrolet MyLink Information (Circled I) --> turn on Show Notifications.

 

It fixed mine, should yours, unless already flagged.
