pm26 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Got up this morning to a dead battery on a truck with 8000 miles that I drive daily. Anyone else have this issue? If so, is it worth it to have the dealer replace for the same battery or go get an aftermarket like optima that wont leave me stranded? I had an OEM battery fail on a car in less than 24 months. Just because your battery failed, does not mean that all batteries in that series are bad. yes, it is worth to have the battery replaced under warranty. I have had very good luck with A/C Delco batteries, and I have had them in vehicles other than GM. Your battery could have been damaged prior to installation. Because batteries are so heavy, sometimes people handling them slam them on the ground or a counter, and this may cause the lead plates to crack, which leads to a premature battery failure.
silveradosid Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 I traded in my 2006 a year and half ago, it had the original ac delco battery in it
