Driveshaft noise

I have a 2005 Chevy z71 and when I pull out of a driveway or turn and accelerate sometimes I hear a loud quick noise from under the truck. I think it's the driveshaft. Any info is appreciated

Probably u joints

Likely a u joint or a cv axle (I'm assuming you turn when you pull out of a driveway) twist the driveshaft by hand and see if the u joint has some play in the cups. The transmission end joints go often on any rear wheel drive.

Probably a u joint. Possibly a hanger bearing on the drive shaft, if your drive shaft has one. Maybe a broken motor or transmission mount but not very likely.

Does the truck have the g80 diff?

 

If your not sure, look for g80 listed with the rpo codes in the glove box door.

 

Sounds suspiciously like a worn g80.
