I have the Z60 Pkg (20") on my 2WD and it handles awesome for a truck. Had an opportunity to drive a slightly upgraded 2016 rental while my tranny was being worked on, and I thought the handling was lacking with the 18" rubber.

You can't make it just about wheel size when you compare unless you had the same exact ire on each size. Many race cars run 18's and their handling doesn't suffer.

In addition an 18" wheel should be lighter and the tire slightly heavier. On a small car I changed from 19 to 18 and saved 4 static pounds but the rotational value of that weight savings is significant.

Your suspension and brakes work better. Faster acceleration and better fuel economy. Not to mention again depending on the tire a better ride and more rim protection.

depends on if you are going to lift it.

keeping stock height or adding leveling kit, 17 or 18's are nice esp. if the wheel is fairly open.

The brake disk fills the background nicely.

on 20's or bigger, they look tiny and you see a lot of background junk under the truck through them when in motion.

The ride is important to me, so stayed with the 17's when I changed wheels to reuse my stock tires.

If going to a 6" lift, eg. - then you are likely putting on 35's.

Bigger rims look more proportional to the tire at those sizes.

Tires are going to be LTs at 35, and stiff enough on their own.

However you will still have a lot of sidewall height with 20's on a 35, as opposed to the 30"to 31" stock tire.

so basically depends on tire diameter you will be running. I'd rather have more sidewall, and on stock diameter tires that means 17/18's.

Solely from a looks standpoint, I think the 18" looks more like a truck should my making the tire look bigger. You also have more tire choices with the 18". Handling is a bit better with the 20", but I would rather have the better ride with more sidewall and the look I want. Of course, all that being said, my last 2 trucks had 20"solely because that is what came on them...
