20s or 18s??

I'm sure this has been debated over and over again but just can't seem to find what I want and I would like some opinions on this. My truck is a 15 CC 2wd Texas edition with the 20 inch chrome wheels. I'm looking for new wheels ( already know what I want ) but debating on keeping 20s or going a little smaller and get 18s. I'm getting new tires regardless the size of the rim. Any downfalls to switching to 18s? Or 20s? I'm just torn on what I want. Either way I'd still want some kind of A/T tire in a 33x12.5(ish). Appreciate any feedback

Another question about aesthetics that only YOU can decide for yourself. But since you asked for other's opinions:

I would stick with 18s solely for the better ride quality. I am not a fan of the "low-pro" look on a truck. But if you don't care about the ride and like lower profile tires, then you should get the 20s.

Well that's my main concern. I don't mind the 20s but I want a smooth ride ride too. I here a lot that 18s ride better so that's why I'm debating on this lol

If the tires are the same construction, it's the tire with more sidewall that will ride better. If you talk about tire heights being the same, the smaller rim size will ride better since it has more tire sidewall. But, if you're talking about lifting and if the tire sidewall will be the same with 20s as stock tires were on 18s then it should ride the same. Tire pressure also effects ride. More PSI will give better MPGs and make the tires last longer. But, less PSI will give better grip and a better ride.

Personally I'm one of those "the more sidewall the better" people and I think 18s is a great size from stock height tires up to lifted truck tire size.

It's still your money so do what you want, just my opinion.

Black wheels typically look smaller than they are, just something to keep in mind

Had 17s when I bought it. Put factory GMC 20s with cooper AT3 tires on this summer. I was really worried about the ride because I've only had 18s in the past, but did it anyway and not disappointed at all. Looks so much different and the difference in ride quality is minimal. Lots of potholes and rough roads here. The wider tire takes some better and some worse. Noise on the highway is only noticeable with the radio down. Definitely a tough decision.

I think 18's look better for the most part, they ride better, tires and rims should be a little cheaper.

If I was getting rims I probably would have gone 18" since it is cheaper, the tires are cheaper, it fills out just as well and looks more "trucky" in my opinion.

I kept my stock rims which is the only reason I am still at 20". Honestly I don't think you can go wrong either way, the 20" ride is great.

Oh I can tell a difference in the ride. Of course doesn't help either with the stock good year ls2 tires either lol
