He just came back from an injury and I watched him over the weekend vs the Astros and he was swinging late on every pitch.He obviously decided to cork the bat to try and make up for his tardiness until he gets his swing back.

 

His argument of using it in batting practice is total BS because you definitely don't want to use a lighter bat for BP when you are already having trouble swinging a normal weight bat against faster pitching in a game.That would do nothing but totally screw up your timing.

It should hurt his chances of getting into the Hall of Fame. He does say it was an accident though. He says he uses the bat for BP and exhibition so he can put on a show for the fans and that it accidentally got mixed up with his regular bats. I don't doubt that one bit. But you can't say that he is a great player all because of a corked bat. It just doesn't add up!

Athletes are very particular about there equipment. He purposly used that bat. It might be because of the injury but it is just stupid. I don't think he had it all along because he has broken a few bats. But what gets me the most is be a man Sosa. Take the stand and admit you screwed up. That dumb "I don't know how it got there" poop just shows how much of a coward you are.

I have been a cubs fan all my life. I have been to more games than i can count. I have mixed emotions on the subject. On one hand id like to see him go (it would do the cubs more good possibly) and on the other i think he is a good ball player.

 

Does it make me think less of him??? Id say just a little and you may ask why just a little and i would have to say because he admitted he used a corked bat (whether it was an accident or on purpose thats not the poiint the point is he used an illegal bat) How many people would have tried to dodge it.

 

Also i just heard the person who has hit 498HR bat is going to cut it open

 

Also i agree he has sucked since he came back from the DL hitting. He had 8Ks (maybe 9) this past weekend.
