Rust Possible Area

Doing a deep clean on the interior of my '05 this morning and got to poking around. I checked behind the flaps on the lower front fenders forward of the door. The finding is not good, packed with leaves, dirt and assorted other crap which leads me to believe if left long term that whole area will turn into a rust bucket. Anybody else looked behind here? If so, how much will have to be pulled to get this ALL of this chit out?

Yup, I blow it out and use fluid film.. It is a TRAP as you state for debris and moisture , Great you brought it up !

That part of the my right fender is GONE.. because of that. I couldnt see it the fender flare.. took the flare off and there is nothing there anymore lol. Definitely clean it and get some oil in there.

I pulled the fender liner forward and washed it out. Pretty easy.

Air hose and crevice tool on the shopvac seemed to work. Although a royal pain to get the muck cleaned between there and firewall. Reason I used the vac was because I didn't want to blow that chit somewhere else to get hung up. Going to be a *must do* every time after we make a trip off the pavement.

 

Think I will try ks's way next time. Just not too sure how long the the plastic retainers would hold up to that though.
